Opus 17 arrives in Dallas
Monday, July 13
Unloading of the truck began early in the morning to avoid the mid-day 100+ degree weather in Dallas. A large group from the church, many wearing new organ T-shirts, assisted in moving the pieces into the church. At the end of the day the main impost (the pedal and positive level) was hoisted over the front of the balcony and the entire lower case was in place.

Opus 17 leaves for Dallas
Saturday, July 11
Opus 17 for The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration left our shop this evening, July 11. Patrick Spiesser once again has the honors of “the last man standing” as the truck moves down Old Lee Highway. With more than 30,000 man-hours and a lot of sweat our most elaborate organ to date is ready for its new home. There are 3,261 pipes, 47 stops, on 3 manuals and pedal. We have had a lot of fun with the bold red faux wood finish complete with trompe l'oeil garlands and a painting of 2 putti in an elliptical frame in the lower case. Once the case is standing and the front pipes are in I hope to add pictures of the completed organ. Since our setup room is only 4 feet taller than the organ and only 7 feet deeper we’ve never been able to get a good photograph.
Here’s to a safe and pleasant journey!
